Dreamer-slash-doer B-Mac, AKA, Brandi McMichael, FKA, Brandi Shigley, brought God on the runway in a biblical epic. Kingdom Work brought truth to life from Genesis to Revelation. An apocalyptic herald ushered in the end-of-times brandishing a glowing triangular artifact, scripture-inscribed-caution tape draped across the hooded silhouette. In this mad world, faith is an expression of rebellion. Thank you Brandi, for your expression.

Hottest babe in the west, supermodel Faith West, blessed the runway for MurMade Swimwear and turned the room into believers. She walked for KetiVani last fall, and her return had someone in the front row yelling “I love you Faith!” like it was church, (it was me). I don’t remember what she wore, and also I’ll never forget. Thank you Faith, you're amazing.

Tyler Wesley cruised the runway for Guided By Humanity like Miami in the '80s, rocking a white and floral suit paired with spotless AF1s. His spins and swaggy poses were runway legend. If you paid attention, you saw him repping for streetwear the next night, red carpet and front row. Thank you Tyler, for your authenticity. Fashion icon.

Fashion is about rising against established systems and Cakebrain hit the nail with a chainsaw baseball bat. A figure emerged from the riot cloaked in an American flag, reverse-crucifix cutting across the fabric in vigilante protest. I passed a No Kings march on the way in, and the #RAGE made it from the streets into the show. Thank you Cakebrain, for your perspective.

I grabbed a cute zine full of poems and art from the popup space by Ferrazo. Fashion is expression, and telling the story behind the clothing through poetry is a beautiful expression of fashion. Designer Savanna Ferrera, told me that poetry is where her inspiration begins. It perfectly complimented her collection in a collage of emotion and energy. Thank you Savanna, for your unique experience.
A poem by Savanna:
burns become stains;
peel crack and bleed,
whiplash, suddenly
each star in the universe
is me
I’m an eyelid away
from the abyss that
loves to haunt me
taunt me
suddenly without
warning, maybe,
every time I wake up
I am someone new entirely
I’m reminded how fragile
a knife can be
how long time will never be

Bête Noire gave us high-drama holy horror. Model Dalila Murtic embodied dark religion with jet-black eyes and a crown of thorns in a messianic resurrection. The finale had the crowd screaming as a white gown bled black ink in sudden open wounds. It reminded me of a famous painting that shredded itself at auction, later going up by 25 million dollars. A reminder that creation begins with destruction.

Thank You
To everyone who gave their heart and souls, their art, their stories, their time and energy, their blood, sweat, and tears, thank you all. This week reminded me why fashion is my religion. It starts with community and breathes life into everything it touches. Fashion moves humanity forward and will ultimately bring peace on earth. Thank you, I love you. See you again soon!
